A remarkable resource for the active astronomer -- Created with the active observer in mind, the Second Edition Atlas published by Sky Publishing Corporation, has many significant enhancements. -- By going to magnitude 8.5 instead of 8.0, the number of plotted stars has nearly doubled. The number of deep-sky objects has increased as well to about 2,700. The Sky Atlas is printed in black and white with a scale of 7.1mm per degree. The charts are wirebound and laminated in clear plastic for protection against moisture and dirt. -- The Sky Atlas 2000.0 contains twenty-six charts covering both hemispheres, each clearly detailed and labeled. The Atlas also contains seven detailed charts of selected regions. |
